Tottenism Tuesday: The Hurrier I Go, The Behinder I Get

Happy #TottenismTuesday from us to you! ?% This old Pennsylvania Dutch saying holds true in this modern day way of living as well as it did back in the day. Basically, what it means is slow the heck down! Particularly in this day and age, with technology being what it is, everyone wants everything NOW. Immediate gratification, right? Well, the honest truth is that everything worthwhile in life (weightlifting or otherwise) takes time and if you try to hurry to get to where you are going, chances are you are going to put yourself farther behind. We are in such a hurry to get to the top that one forgets what it takes to get there. Take the time to build the foundation. Take the time to work on your weak areas. Take the time to really sit down and examine where you are, where you want to go and what it will take to get you there. There are no shortcuts. The discipline has to be there to do the drudgery type things that others may not be willing to take the time to do. Of course, its not easy. But, if it were easy, everyone would be good, right??
