We have all heard the term, “practice makes perfect”, right? Well, there’s another version that says, “perfect practice makes perfect”. The point being that when you practice anything, whether its an athletic skill or any other skill, its not just the time that you put into the practice sessions, but the QUALITY of the practice sessions that matters most. Each practice session needs to be as focused and as “perfect” as possible. If you are just going through the motions without that focus required, bad habits are being reinforced instead of the good stuff. Maybe not “perfect”, but striving for that perfection will translate to better performance in the heat of competition.
